Here’s a great book about the cheese and whine of motherhood.
 
How To Spread Sanity On A Cracker is a book by Jackie Hennessey that talks about the trials and tribulations of motherhood with a little bit of humor and a side of cheese and whine. This books shares stories from the author and her friends about funny things that happen while being a mom, and how sometimes there are things that can just drive you to a glass of wine and cheese dip. The stories are short and entertaining and cheese dip recipes are included at the beginning of each chapter. I love the fact the recipes tie in with each chapter and they look easy enough to make (even for me)!
 
Jackie Hennessey, a mom blogger from Venting Sessions, turned work she did on her site into a fabulous recipe/mom book that entertains as well as provides readers with great recipes to use at home. Some of the dips she has recipes for include:
Baked Brie
Chili Cheese Dip
Crab Dip
Cheesy Beer Dip
Buffalo Chicken Dip
Figgy Cheese Dip
Hot Bacon Dip
and MUCH MORE!!!

There are about 23 cheese dips included in the book. Each chapter starts with the cheese (recipe) and then continues on to the whine (venting story of motherhood).

I was fortunate enough to meet the author in person, as she is also a Rhode Islander like myself. I attended a book signing she held at a wine shop (perfect for this book), and I got to hear her read a chapter aloud from her book. That was very cool. Everyone enjoyed the read aloud and she had a line of fans to sign books for as well! Oh, and I also got to TRY some of the cheese dips in her book! The figgy cheese dip was AMAZING!!!

2. It’s a great pick-up and put-down bathroom/kitchen book

3. The stories are real, from the heart

4. I could relate to so many stories being a mom of two young kids myself
